The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens is a research and cultural center located in San Marino, California. The library was founded in 1919 by Henry E. Huntington and is home to a number of collections, including rare books, manuscripts, and artworks as well as a number of beautiful gardens.
The library is home to a copy of the Gutenberg Bible and a first edition of Shakespeare’s plays as well as the papers of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. The art collection includes paintings by European masters and American artists. The library is also home to a number of sculptures and decorative arts objects, ceramics and furniture.
The Huntington boasts strikingly beautiful gardens. The Japanese garden features a koi pond, a teahouse, and a number of traditional Japanese plants. The desert garden features a variety of plants native to the desert regions of the world.
